Find Your Inspiration In Life Before It's Too Late

Do you enjoy reading quotes from famous people? I enjoy them especially when they are amusing or inspiring to me. What is it about reading quotes from other people, whether they are famous or not, that stirs some kind of passion inside of us and motivates us?

We all sometimes find the day going by as we're focused on a certain activity. I’m sure you can relate to this, especially if you work at a job that required complete mental focus to perform well. We also get into a habit of doing the same things every day, and rarely get a chance to look beyond ourselves in our little world.

But when you read something very inspirational, it immediately hits you and makes you think about your goals, your dreams, and the things that you have been working for all along. This renewed spirit is what drives us, not only to accomplish more each day but to do it with a sense of purpose in life. Without purpose in our lives, what are we really accomplishing? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to just “survive” – I want to truly live life to the fullest! That's why I love funny inspirational quotes every day.

Some of my favorite quotes are by people like Winston Churchill, who said “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.” To me this really sums up the attitude of a winner, never giving up in life. After all, we have all been at that place where we feel like nothing is working and it’s just no use. But to give up is never an option – to fight on and conquer is the only way to be.

Another great quote from someone famous is this: “Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.” I bet you don’t know what early president said that. It was from Abraham Lincoln no less, who was considered to be a bit dark and introspective of a person, although also one of our countries greatest Presidents. There are many quotes on being happy, as most of us only chase happiness never to find out what it is for very long.

Some great quotes actually come from religion as well; I enjoy reading many of them. Here is a favorite of mine: “One filled with joy preaches without preaching” by Mother Theresa. She was always smiling, and obviously her philosophy in life was to spread joy by being an example to the rest of the world. What a great outlook on life! Considering she spent most of her life in the slums of Calcutta, it never ceases to amaze me that she had this positive an attitude. Truly this is something to aspire to, don’t you think?

With that thought in mind, how about another of the most famous quotes about life: “The unexamined life is not worth living for a human being” from Socrates. We all need to sit back and get the “big picture” of what is going on sometimes, our lives become too wrapped up in the minutiae of living, surviving, and doing the things we need to do. We must examine, and re-examine our lives on a regular basis to make sure we are heading in the direction we choose, not the direction that life is taking us.

In life, many times we only get what we really deserve. So working hard at what we want seems to be the best way, in most cases. By this standard, one of my favorite quotes is by Thomas Edison who said “Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration”. You don’t have to be a genius in life to be successful or happy, but working hard at our goals and dreams almost always is the quickest way. So whatever you want in life, don’t wait for it – work for it! To help, read more inspirational sports quotes as often as you can.
