Walking - An Easy Path To Losing Weight
If you've determined to get rid of a few extra pounds then you've probably made some sort of workout plan. Is exercising something you're not used to doing? It's easy to add walking to your daily schedule. You may want to take your beloved dog for a 10-minute stroll around the vicinity. A minimum of 10 minutes daily may not look like a lot of time spent walking until you see that it is equivalent to 70 minutes over the course of a week. If you and your dog walk twice per day then that number doubles. If you live close to where you work, consider walking all or part of the way. Obviously, if you live a two hour walk from your work place, it's not such a good idea to walk there every day (but feel free to try if you think you can do it!). It's not unreasonable to walk 30 minutes to get to work and it will give you one hour of exercise each day going back and forth. If you get on the buss to work, try walking to the next bus stop and incorporate some exercise to your day. Its not hard to add in walking.
Walking is terrific for your overall health. Because walking is a type of cardiovascular activity, you'll burn off calories while also melting off the fat and bettering your heart. If you feel like you could do more, go for it. Try walking at a faster pace or if you're feeling really confident, you could start jogging. From there, you can progress to more vigorous exercises.

It's hard to find excuses for not walking short distances regularly. Even if you are busy, you can take out 10 minutes to walk around the block, or if you are a member of a gym, nip in and do half an hour on the treadmill at a slow pace to start off with.
