A Few Suggestions To Help You Achieve Your Goals Whatever They May Be

Do you have long-term projects with short-term expectancies? If you do, that's a sure trail to disappointment and failure.

Lifestyle goals such as exercise and healthy diet have to become habits to be effective . A career shift such as a new position or learning how to earn money at home also needs time and planning, and it doesn't happen overnight.

Your world has shifted. There's voice mail, email, pagers, and faxes that have made a waiting period unsuitable and nearly outdated. With information immediately available, we think relationships and goal achievement to be done the same. As you read this you know that it is unreasonable to expect that, don't you? We've been led by advertisers to accept that we merit immediate gratification, and it is swiftly and easily available!

When you want to train a puppy, you know that it's going to take time and consistent re-strengthening. You are ready for that, as you desire your puppy to behave in an OK way. Why then, are you so patient with the little puppy and so hard on yourself?

When you plant seeds in the garden, you incline them, water them, hope for daylight and nurture them. Are you nurturing yourself?

The easiest way to move gently and effectively towards your goals is to take a fair approach. Break your long-term project goal into sub-goals. Break it into do-able, short-term chunks. Today prepare the soil ; tomorrow plant the seeds.

Each action you take and each step is gratifying because you know it's making a contribution to the completion of your goal. You can't rush Mother Nature with your garden, and the same is right for your goals.

This process is far more than "bloom where you're planted", because when you're the gardener you select what to plant and how to nurture it. Do the same for yourself, and grow yourself fantastically. Your goals will be accomplished in due time, and you will not finish up up-tight and frazzled.

My Personal Priorities For Improvement In 2010

I want you to know that there’s no better time than to get excited about your life and goals - not because it's going to turn 2010, it's simply because today is always the best time.

There are 5 areas of life and self improvement that I would seek to improve - health, relationship, spirituality, financial wealth and personal growth. None of them are at a higher priority than the others as they're all holistically balanced to create the right combination of success in life.

It's a fact that if you don't have financial wealth, your life could be slightly 'inconvenient'. If you gonna give me the lecture that the monks and priests live happily ever after without seeking wealth, then I'm not going to argue with you. But look - you're no monk or priest so be real, nothing to be embarrassed of.

Money is never evil. It's a big wrong myth that rich people are arrogant, greedy or selfish and as a matter of fact, most of them are the opposite. So I would suggest you to make your goal setting in 2010 to get to know some millionaires and rich people to learn what their secrets to wealth are. Who knows - they might even pass you some opportunities you can work together with them.

If you think you're poor today, it's because you 'choose' to become this way by your acts and thoughts. Same thing - if you're rich, it's because the way how you act upon opportunities and think of positive outcomes. Would you believe me I've received email messages asking me to give them money for nothing simply because they believe in Law of Attraction and hoping that the Universe will give them money from nowhere? No wonder they're broke and poor because they don't take responsibility to for their own future. People just don't understand how Law of Attraction actually works.

Look - you have to work for your own success. If you're smart, you buy some courses or attend seminars to uncover the shortcuts or just take the long road by testing out on your own. Your choice. Both ways are fine and both still require work. In 2010, I'll focus more on creating multiple income streams (MSI). Now, MSI does not means that you got to have different kinds of income streams - it simply means you have more income streams. For instance, I will create income streams from offline publication books, seminars with other speakers and so on. So focus on what you already have or doing very well, then 'branch' out from there.

The other 2 important areas that are usually missed out when someone pursue the goal of attaining financial wealth is relationship and health. My friend, time flies very fast. Within a blink of an eye, you'll see your children already grown up or your folks getting old. So cherish what you have now because by end of the day, your success is actually measured by the relationship that you have - not the money in your bank account. I've experience this from the sad and happy angle, when my Grandma passed away and also, seeing my baby girl growing right now in 2009.

Health? Put it this way, you can't enjoy spending your money earned if you don't have the body and mind to enjoy it. But I can tell you this - don't be a health freak and miss out the joy of life. I mean, don't eat cheese burger every day but hey, don't torture yourself of not eating that because you're worried that you're going to get heart attack or something. Life is rather short, so enjoy your food but just don't go extreme. Dude, I'm not asking you to take drugs, it's a cheese burger for Pete's sake.

One more thing about health - if you can afford it, do take supplements especially those green stuff supplements. Our food and environment are getting worse so you need whatever 'effortless' thing to give you the edge to stay focus, energetic and vibrant when you're on track to success.

Spirituality comes from within. Whether it is the connection to God, to your inner voice, Law of Attraction or other aspects of spirituality, it gives you the serenity in your mind. You need that. You've seen and heard of stories people 'let go' of everything and pursue a greater goal because they have aligned with their spirituality part and ultimately, it leads to happiness. My point? Spirituality leads to happiness. Funny thing is, our ultimate goal is suppose to be happy but you don't hear people attending seminars on how to be happy because they thought money makes them happy and so on. The truth… happiness is obtain when you're grateful with what you have and understands that you have a beautiful life - regardless of who you are.

And lastly, I'll be seeking for more personal growth in 2010. Personal growth is about enriching your experience and expanding your knowledge. You see, the only thing that does not change is Change itself. So if you want to transform yourself into a better person in any positive angle, then I highly suggest you to uncover many more secrets to personal growth that you are still unaware of. Whether you attend more seminars, listen to self help audios or take the time to read more self improvement blog, it is truly your responsibility to continue 'upgrading' yourself for success. No one's going to motivate you or give you the cutting edge strategies for success - you got to seek that out for yourself because, again, it's your life.

One more thing - stop telling people about your sad story or TELLING YOURSELF, get over that and start thinking how you can reach your goals (but please, not by asking the Universe to give you money). You might think it's easy for me to say this today because I'm 'Patric Chan' or any of those craps… think again, bucko. I can tell you that I used to be in your same shoes as well and so do Anthony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki, Jack Canfield , Mark Victor Hansen, Robert Allen and all of the authors and speakers who you look high upon at. So in all fairness, I think if you start taking full responsibility for your life and create the eagerness to be far more supreme than where you are right now, you 'Chan' do it. I believe.

All the best,

Patric Chan

5 Ways To Help Improve Your Confidence

Confidence can be an important factor in all areas of life whether that is in your love life, in the workplace or to simply motivate yourself to do the things you want to do. Lots of people are stuck in a career that they don't really want to be in instead of following their dreams and going after what they really want.

Usually this is a result of a lack of confidence in their abilities and the fear of leaving a comfortable financial situation and leaping into the unknown. You will also find that people often feel uncomfortable about leaving what they know in exchange for a new work place and surroundings.

If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself stuck within a negative headset then there are a range of different things you can do in order to get out of it. Taking these simple steps forward can help get you out of your negative way of thinking in order to achieve your goals. Try using the 5 steps below to help you regain your confidence and get your dream job.

1. Realise what you’re doing and stop it. It is very easy to slip into a negative state of mind and put yourself down. Take note of when you’re doing this and manage it. Imagine a good friend is saying the same thing about themselves and then think of the advice that you would give them. Are you going to agree with what they're saying? The answer is more than likely to be no.
2. Seek Professional Help. If you think about a sports team, who is it that helps them to become better players and fills them with confidence. It is the coach and a confidence coach can help do the same for you. Confidence coaching is a great way of learning how best to overcome your problems and deal with them in a positive way.
3. Think Of What You Have Not What You Don't. It is easy to focus on what you don’t have and what you’re not good at but it is important to focus on the things you do have. If you realise the good things you have then you’re more likely to stay positive.
4. Sit up straight and smile. Just like your grandma always used to tell you, sit up straight and smile and you instantly look more confident and more approachable. This makes life a lot easier as the first impression you will receive is going to be a good one.
5. Get help with your career. You can get help with your career by seeking advice from a career coach. Career coaching will help you to refine the good skills that you already have and help you to develop new skills that you might need for a career change. It is easy to find a coach near you or you have to do is type in a phrase like Career Coaching London into a search engine.

Using these 5 simple steps will help you to begin improving your confidence and move forward. There are plenty more out there that can be found to help but seeking professional help will guarantee better results.

7 Ways To Overcome Procrastination

Are you a victim of laziness, a root cause of procrastination? Do you often suffer because of what you initially considered as easy has turned difficult with the loss of time, and what appeared hard, due to further delay, has become impossible now?

You may draw comfort from the fact that you are in the company of many that are affected by procrastination. But you must realize that you must get rid of your laziness by shaking yourself up into action if you want to improve life. Like many others, you can indeed stop procrastinating and start meeting deadlines, by following a few simple steps that teach you effective time management.

1. Plan your daily must-do activities. Draw up a to-do list; preferably, write it down on paper; or, use a computer if you prefer.

2. Learn to prioritize, giving precedence to the more important activities. If there are urgent things to do, but not important enough to be worried about if not done, put them below the important ones. The idea is based on the established principle that 80% of rewards accrue from 20% of effort directed towards accomplishing important work.

3. Estimate the time required for each of the listed activities after analyzing their complexity. Avoid underestimation, as you may not have enough time to do well a particular of piece of work. Similarly, avoid overestimation, for that may leave some activities without enough time. A realistic budgeting of time is a must. Time allocation is a skill that you gain through experience. So keep reviewing and revising your time schedule as you progress.

4. Organize your life. That will help you stop wasting away the time available for you to complete your work. Remember indiscipline causes confusion, even chaos, in life. It eats into your time. Avoid sloppiness. For instance, leave your personal belongings of daily use, like your glasses, your clothing, your computer etc., in the same place. When you do that, you won't have to look everywhere for them each morning. Apply the principle of doing work first and then taking time for pleasure and relaxation. Reverse the order only at the pain of falling prey to procrastination. You can get time for rest and relaxation if you are efficient in doing your assigned work.

5. Start working bit by bit. You may see a mountain at first, but mountains can be moved, especially if you begin by moving just a small stone from it. You know you cannot move the entire mountain all at once. Don't be overwhelmed by the immensity of the task before you. That will put you off. And you will put off the task for another day, which will never come. Just begin by taking one small step and you will see your efforts at improving life pay off.

6. Put first things first early in the day. Remember that over time, procrastination becomes a habit. Begin your day by launching yourself head first into the most important job waiting to be done.

7. Learn to cope with anxiety, depression, stress and other similar conditions of the mind related to your problems in life. Keep yourself fit, not just physically but mentally as well. Learn and practice suitable mental relaxation techniques such as meditation.

You probably let procrastination without realizing it but by practicing the above steps, you will be able to slip out of it before you know it. Don’t let your life rot away due to procrastination.
