Sometimes, breakups can bring out the worst in people and sometimes negative emotions take over. The one thing you know, better than anything else, is that you’re hurting right now. You want the pain to end. You want your ex back. All you can think is: ‘I want my ex back!’ Then can’t help but wonder if that’s just wishful thinking in a hopeless situation.
It’s perfectly normal to want to get your ex back after an unwanted breakup. It’s also very possible to make that happen as well.
Now, you should note that it might not be the easiest thing you’ve ever done. It is, however, within the realm of possibilities. And, it doesn’t have to be all that difficult.
Where Should You Begin?
This is the perfect first question. If you want to get your ex back, then you’re probably going to have to make the first move. But, now is not the best time to make the bold overture to your ex. It’s better to start in the mirror. Sometimes it’s a good idea to compare the person you are now with the person you were when you first met.
While you’re looking in the mirror, the comparisons shouldn’t be limited to appearance. Think about how you reacted and responded to your ex. Were things different towards the end of your relationship? Did you place the same emphasis on his every word? Did you give him compliments and shower him with flattery? Were you constantly finding reasons to touch him?
It’s normal for some of the ‘newness’ of a relationship to dim over time. But it’s equally important to find new ways to make your relationship exciting day after day and year after year. Here is one small change you can make that will have a huge impact on your relationship once you get your ex back.
Watch Your Words
There is a debate that’s been heard throughout the ages about whether the pen was mightier than the sword. The reason this debate still holds so much merit (though it could be argued that keyboard might be the more appropriate comparison in the Information Age) today is because there is a lot of truth to it.
Words are important. They can be diplomatic, caring, scathing, and passionate. They can start wars and end them. Words are how we mortals express thoughts, opinions, and feelings. Despite all this, at times, words are inadequate for the tasks they are needed to fulfill.
Be very careful with the words you choose and use only those that build your partner up, flatter, inspire, encourage, and mend fences. Once you learn to do this, you’ll see a change in your relationship that is definitely for the better.
Now, it’s time for the hard part. If you really want to make your relationship work you have to start by finding a way to get your ex back. It might look like a lost cause but it is far from over – at least not yet.
